Dan and Stephanie’s Museum Wedding {A. Hedges Photography Albany New York Wedding Photography}

Dan and Stephanie’s wedding was such a treat for me! Not only were they a very sweet couple to work with, they were very easy going, quite detail oriented, they were non-traditional in the best ways, and the wedding was unique- it was IN a museum!! I also think Dan may have matched my incredibly fast email response time- something I pride myself on! We worked well together during the planning phase, their engagement session was fun and laid back, and they were always willing to consider my photographic point of view when making their wedding day plans- something I hope they would agree was a good idea in hindsight.

So, not only was the wedding itself held in the Albany Institute of History and Art, we also took many of the formal photos at the New York State Museum and around the Empire State Plaza. The choices they made fit them perfectly and were a challenging, welcomed change of pace for me!

Enjoy the highlights of Dan and Stephanie’s wedding day!

The Floral Garden in Delmar did a beautiful job with the floral decor!

Meet Stephanie and Dan!!!

Along with the other wonderful decisions they made, Dan and Stephanie decided to do a “first look”. This gave us a ton of time before the ceremony for their formal photos. We took a nice walk through the NYS Museum and around the Empire State Plaza. It was simply a relaxing, upbeat stroll around a beautiful part of Albany! Perfection!

One of the BEST first look reactions. EVER!

They had very specific requests for photos in the NYS Museum. I may have embarrassed myself when I mixed up a Moose with an Elk but in the end, I hope these images are as special to Stephanie and Dan as they could have hoped for!

Though, the carousel did not disappoint either…

Outside I was able to capture a bit of Albany’s flavor as well as the light hearted playfulness that IS Dan and Stephanie

We then, made our way to the Albany Institute of History and Art for the rest of the evening.

There weren’t many options for taking photos in the AIHA because many of the exhibits are on loan and therefor photography isn’t allowed, but we did find a few amazing spots for a few more photos.

So thank you to Stephanie and Dan, for including me in your amazing wedding day. I wish you both nothing but the best!
